Cabernet Franc "South Block" 2022, Manakin-Sabot, Virginia
Made with exclusively Goochland County grapes harvested from the South Block at Dover Hall, this inaugural estate Cab Franc was certainly worth the four year wait! Its nose is a tantalizing rollercoaster with dark fruit, black currant, and black cherry aromas, playing hide-and-seek with hints of vanilla and spice. With a velvety palate, ripe fruit flavors take the lead, playing with tannins so well-integrated, they're practically BFFs. Black pepper and tobacco join the palate party, adding a dash of complexity that will make your taste buds dance a jig. Light enough to pair with our Lochlander salmon but equally rewarding with our airline chicken and game jus.
